South Stars Who Grabbed Headlines in 2017

Baahubali cast Prabhas, Rana and Anushka were in the news for a host of reasons.Apart from Baahubali stars, other actors like Jr.NTR and Allu Arjun made headlines with their box office records.

Prabhas: After the phenomenal success of Baahubali-The Conclusion he has become a household name across India. Now, Prabhas finds himself in the top league with Tollywood biggies. His next film is Sahoo and there is no doubt that it is one of the most awaited films of the year. In India, none of them knew Prabhas before Baahubali franchise but he has earned Pan-Indian audiences.

Anushka Shetty:
Mesmerised the audiences with her performance as Devasena in Baahubali 2. Sweety
takes right back to the era of Soundarya and Vijayshanthi. There were rumors about her marriage or relationship with Prabhas , which were scotched when they declared officially that they are friends.

Rana: No one can doubt the fact that he was a frontrunner for playing the role of
a baddie in Baahubali 2 opposite Prabhas. This year, he had acted in other film Nene Raju Nene Mantri which was released in August.It was political drama made with a budget of Rs 12 Cr but managed to rake in Rs 45 Cr globally.

Allu Arjun: Stylish star Allu Arjun
is on a golden run. He hasn't looked back since 2014 with Race Gurram, 2015 S/O Satyamurthy, 2016 Sarraionodu and Duvvada Jagannadham. He had only one film this year. DJ was an action thriller film where Bunny was seen in a Brahmin avatar. Duvvada Jagannadham made the film on a budget of Rs 50 Cr and it earned Rs 115 Crore
