Somu Veerraju Demands Probe Into Land Scams
In a huge embarassment to the ruling TDP, a key leader from the its alliance partner - the BJP - slammed the spate of land scams in Andhra Pradesh and called for an all-party meeting on it.
In a letter to Chief Minsiter Chandrababu Naidu, BJP MLC Somu Veerraju demanded that the Government order a CBI inquiry into the land scams to create trust and confidence about among the people. Somu Veerraju released the letter to the media on Monday.
He said he was appalled at MP JC Diwakar Reddy's son in law Deepak Reddy grabbing lands roth thousands of crores. He said the government was acquiring land to hand it over at throwaway prices to corproate bodies and said that the TDP MLAs, MLCs and Ministers were indiscriminately grabbing prime lands in Andhra Pradesh.
