Residents of Delhi woke up to a thick layer of smog on Wednesday. Most schools and colleges were shut due to thick smog that affected visibility badly. Workers and employees had a tough time going to their offices due to poor visibility. Several minor accidents were also reported from various places in the national capital due to smog.

In another incident in Punjab, at least nine students were crushed by a speeding truck when they were standing on a flyover in Punjab's Bathinda district on Wednesday amid dense fog in the area. Seven others were injured in the horrific accident. The truck driver apparently failed to see them due to virtual zero visibility. The victims were rushed to nearby hospitals.
