Six point development package for the successor states of AP: PM

Rajya Sabha was high on drama on Thursday with TMC members tearing papers in front of PM Manmohan Singh in Well of Rajya Sabha.  

Congress members put up a cordon around the Prime Minister. PM announces a six-point development package for the successor states of Andhra Pradesh in Rajya Sabha. "The announcement will demonstrate govt's steadfast commitment to creation of Telangana and to continued prosperity for Seemandhra," said PM.

Resource gap in successor state of Andhra Pradesh in first year will be compensated in the regular Union Budget for 2014-15. PM assures Rajya Sabha that govt will execute Polavaram project. Appointed day for formation of new state will be so fixed in relation to notified date so as to enable preparatory work in various respects said the PM.
