Sita Not A Virgin: Director, Actress Booked For Hurting Sentiments

Hyderabad: The Telugu short film 'Sita - I'm Not A Virgin' ran into trouble for its tagline. According to a complaint lodged by an advocate, the film's tagline is denigrating the sentiments of Hindus. The Neredmet Police registered a case against the filmmaker Kaushik, actress Deepthi Sunaina and producer Neerja Naidu on Monday after advocate V. Prasanna lodged the complaint.

The film was uploaded on YouTube on March 12. As soon as the video was uploaded, several comments were posted in response to the movie, threatening film makers to change the title.

The story of the film revolves around a character 'Sita' who tells the men who wish to marry her that she's not a virgin. 'Sita' plays a rape victim in the film and the movie narrates how society stigmatizes such survivors.

The actress Deepthi Sunaina was earlier in controversy over her Dubsmash of Baahubali holding a dog on her shoulders in place of Shiva Linga.
