SI case: Teacher's stories inconsistent

The Cyberabad police has decided to record the statement of a woman teacher before court here tomorrow after she allegedly gave conflicting versions about her disappearance following alleged harassment by a sub-inspector.

The 30-year-old woman, a resident of Addagutta, who worked as a teacher at a private school, had gone missing under mysterious circumstances since Wednesday following alleged harassment by Dundigal sub-inspector (SI) V Sudhir Kumar.
The woman's husband had lodged a complaint with the police, stating that he found a note which said that his wife wanted to commit suicide as she was unable to bear the harassment meted out by the SI. However, the woman was found at her relatives house on Thursday.
The investigation held so far has revealed that she herself had left the house. She is repeatedly giving different versions during her inquiry by police, a police officer said. Therefore, it has been decided to record her statement before a judge.
The woman will be produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Rajendranagar on Saturday for recording her statement before the judge, the police officer added. After enquiring her over the sudden disappearance, the woman was sent home on Friday. No one has been arrested in the case so far.
Further investigation needs to be conducted, he said. If there is any false complaint lodged over her disappearance, a case will be registered against them, the police officer added.
