Shun Aadhar card linkage to loan waiver:YSRCP

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress has demanded that the TDP Government shun the policy of linking Aadhar card to welfare schemes and implement loan waiver scheme in the right earnest.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said: “Aadhar linkage is being used as a tool to bring down the number of beneficiaries and dilute the welfare schemes. Similar stratregems were applied to bring down the loan waiver beneficiery number."
"We demand that the State should shun from linking Aadhar cards with loan waiver as many eligible people are being turned down on the ground that they have Aadhar cards elsewhere. While Chandrababu Naidu could have his Aadhar card here in the city and be the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh why not a person having a small land holding in Andhra Pradesh, but resides in Hyderabad be ineligible for the loan waiver," she asked.
She further said that Chandrababu and his government were trying to dupe the people of Andhra Pradesh with misinformation. "In Tirupati a farmer was made to tell at a meeting that his farm loan of 1.5 lakh was waived and Chief Minister Chandrababu had even patted the farmer, terming him lucky. Later on, it turned out that the actual loan waived was just Rs 29, 999 only," Padma pointed out.
