Shashi Tharoor could be questioned by SIT

New Delhi: Former Union minister Shashi Tharoor wife Sunanda Pushkar's case will now be investigated by a Special Investigation Team which was appointed by Delhi Police chief B S Bassi on Wednesday.

Reportedly, SIT will primarily focus on a puncture mark found between Pushkar index and middle fingers. However, the police chief does not rule out questioning her husband Shashi Tharoor.
Sunanda Pushkar, found dead here nearly a year ago, was poisoned to death, Delhi Police said Tuesday, triggering demands for his resignation from the Lok Sabha.
Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi said a murder case had now been registered against "unknown persons" and that the final medical report was clear that Pushkar, 52, died an unnatural death.
Tharoor, a former central minister who is the Lok Sabha member from Thiruvananthapuram, said he was stunned by the developments and assured full cooperation with police.
Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel Jan 17, 2014, a day after she and Tharoor checked in because their house was allegedly getting painted. Both had been married twice earlier. Tharoor was then the minister of state for human resource development in the Manmohan Singh government
