Sharmila takes a dig at Chandrababu

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was the responsible for belt shops in the State, said Sharmila, who came to Vijayawada as part of her "Maro Praja Prasthanam" on Wednesday.

Addressing a mammoth public meeting at Dabbakottu centre, she said Chandrababu had lost the place in the history with deceiving his father-in-law NTR to come to power. People had migrated for livelihood to neighbouring states during the rule of TDP and the poor and the farmers were the worst affected sections with his misdeeds, Sharmila said.

Sharmila criticised that Chandrababu had never thought of welfare of the poor and the farmers and the Congress government headed by Kiran Kumar Reddy too was following the suite of Chandrababu Naidu. She surprised why Chandrababu Naidu was raising objections on power tariff hike as he did the same thing during his rule. She said both the Congress and the TDP have no guts to face his brother Jagan Mohan Reddy politically. They colluded with each other fearing to face Jagan as he would win the hearts of the people as an heir of late YSR.

She accused the TDP and the Congress of being responsible for Jagan's arrest. She warned both the parties that they should remember that lion was a lion even in the cage. No one can stop Jagan to become the chief Minister and exuded confidence that he would bring back the "Rajanna rajyam" (YSR's rule) and promised to provide interest-free loans for women.

The meeting was largely attended by youth and women. Sharmila's padayatra evoked good response from people of Vijayawada.
