Sharmila’s entry into EG remembers YSR’s historical yatra

Sharmila, sister of YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is continuing her father YSR’s legacy as many people, who were present, are nostalgic about YSR’s padayatra ten years back.

In her padayatra, 'Maro Praja Prastanam', she reached Rajahmundry on Tuesday evening. She has completed her padayatra in West Godavari district and crossed the Kovvuru bridge to enter East Godavari district, taking some people down the memorably line of YSR and Jagan.

Going back, late CM Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy had also crossed the Kovvuru bridge in 2003, that is exactly a decade ago. His son, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy too crossed the same bridge as part of his Haritha Yatra during which he toured the district in 2011. It is now their family member Sharmila is taking the step forward and repeating the history.

Scores of supporters and YSRCP activists accorded a tumultuous welcome to Sharmila when she reached the entrance of the bridge. Soaking in the heavy rain, thousands of supporters greeted her.

Sharmila is going to tour in East Godavari for about 20 days, covering 270 km on foot. In the process, she is going to visit 13 constituencies in the district.
