Setback to Telangana As SC Quashes SLP on Krishna Water

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday quashed the Telangana Government's Special Leave Petition (SLP) challenging Brijesh Kumar tribunal's directions on Krishna river water-sharing issue.

Brijesh Kumar tribunal earlier had said that according to Section 89 (a) and (b) of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, project wise water allocations and water availability is limited to two Telugu states only. Telangana Government had filed an SLP in the Supreme Court challenging Brijesh Kumar tribunal's directions.

Court quashed the SLP and said that the hearing will continue on other petitions.
