Seemandhra MPs' helplessness in Parliament

The uproar over state bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh continued in the Parliament forcing adjournment of the monsoon session several times. However, the scene witnessed in the House today caught everyone's attention.

As expected, several Congress MPs from Seemandhra raised Samaikyandhra slogans holding placards. This irked AICC chief Sonia Gandhi a great deal. It's a known fact that Sonia had already warned MPs against creating a ruckus in the Parliament. Today when the scene repeated and the MPs stood in front of Sonia with the placards, she signaled them to return to their seats.

Surprisingly enough, the MPs quickly returned to their seats without any protest. Political observers feel that the MPs have absolutely no say in the Centre's decision on state and they can't do much about keeping the state united. They are mere puppets in the hands of the Congress High Command.
