Seemandhra leaders meet PM, 'T' row hots up

Political heat on the Telangana issue has intensified with Seemandhra and 'T' Congress leaders holding series of meetings in Delhi with several top leaders in the Congress Party.

Several Seemandhra Congress leaders on Tuesday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to bring to his notice the popular sentiment to keep Andhra Pradesh united.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, minister TG Venkatesh said that they told the PM about why the state should remain united.

The meeting witnessed the attendance of S Sailajanath,Raghuveera Reddy,Erasu Pratap Reddy, T G Venkatesh, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, Sailajanath,Niraja Reddy, Vatti Vasanta Kumar, former minister Gade Venkata Reddy and some AP NGO leaders.

Several Telangana Congress leaders also reached the country's capital to demand for separate Telangana state.

Several 'T' Congress leaders including, minister Prasad Kumar, MLAs  Kavita, KLR Pratap Reddy and Abraham left for Delhi.

'T' Congress leaders are pressing for an early decision on the statehood issue as Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's Bangladesh tour begins on January 27.
