Secunderabad-Tirupati Express flagged off

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday flagged off a key rail route that had been non-functional for over a decade because of gauge conversion.

CM re-connected the route by launching Train No. 12770, Secunderabad-Tirupati Express that will run bi-weekly. The train will run via Kacheguda, Kurnool, Dhone, Gooty, Dharmavaram, Madanapalle, Kalikiri, Piler and Pakala.
Union Minister of State for Railways, Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy too was present on the occasion.
With Suryaprakash Reddy being inducted into the Union Cabinet, CM hoped that all the state projects that was moving at a snail's pace will gain momentum.
Suryaprakash Reddy too assured that he would do his best to push get the backlog cleared and push for state's development in the railway sector.
On the occasion, the Union minister also talked about the introduction of the air-conditioned, superfast Kakinada-Secunderabad Express that will start running from Sunday. Soon, trains linking Visakhapatnam to Tirupati and Shirdi, apart from a Karimnagar-Tirupati Express too would be introduced, he added.
