SC says no to Jagan's bail

The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the bail petition filed by YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in connection with the quid pro quo case.

A bench headed by Justice Sathasivan and Justice Iqbal pronounced the verdict.

It's been 348 days since Jagan was arrested. The court directed the CBI to wind up investigation in the case within four months and submit a final chargesheet. If the probe doesn't happen, Jagan can apply for a bail again in the trial court, ruled the court.

It is learnt that the CBI has now assured the court that the probe will be completed within the stipulated time.

This came as a major disappointment for scores of Jagan's fans who had gathered at the party office as well as the court premises in Delhi hoping to receive the news of their icon's release.
