Satyam Fraud Case: Ramalinga Raju convict no. 4148

kingpin Ramalinga Raju is now convict number 4148  in Hyderabad's Cherlapally prision. After pronouncement of quantum of punishment, all ten accused found guilty were moved to Cherlapally  jail. In noon hours of Thursday, special CBI court sentenced Ramalinga Raju and nine others to seven years rigorous imprisonment by a special court after it found them guilty of criminal conspiracy and cheating among other offences in the scam.

All the accused, including Rama Raju, brother of Raju were taken into custody by CBI and are shifted to jail at around 6:30 PM. They can seek for special category prisoner, until then they will be treated as ordinary convict prisoner. They will enjoy all those facilities given to similar convict prisoners in the jail. Raju's lawyer told to media, that they will approach high court for bail. The verdict will be challenged in High Court.
