Satya Prakash Thakkar to take charge as new chief secretary of AP

Hyderabad: Satyaprakash Thakkar will be appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh State as the current office bearer IYR Krishna Rao's tenure comes to an end on January 31. A diktat in this connection has already been issued by the AP government.

Earlier, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu wanted to make use of the services of current chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao by prolonging his tenure but, it’s reliably learnt that Krishna Rao will relinquish his post on January 31 and take over as chairman of AP Brahmin Corporation.

The senior IAS officer Satyaprakash Thakkar is currently serving in Planning Department as Special Principal Secretary.
Thakkar, a 1981 batch Indian Administrative Service officer, is a Law graduate from University of Delhi. He held the post of Principal Secretary (Irrigation) from 2004 to 2010 and has more than three decades experience in developmental planning. Thakkar has been the Principal Secretary of Planning Department since November 2010.
