Saris worth Rs 30 lakhs seized from Krishna Raju's warehouse
Elections have never been bereft of bribes. And local body election events have always been punctured with cases of local voters being wooed by gifts.
Eluru witnessed a similar event. On, Friday, withing just few weeks to go for local body elections, the officials of election department seized saris from a warehouse in Eluru.
On Friday morning, police from Mogalthuru raided a warehouse, reportedly belonging to BJP leader and industrialist Raghurama Krishna Raju, at Vempa village of Bheemavaram mandal in West Godavari district. During the check, police seized saris worth Rs 30 lakh. As per reports, the saris were to be used to woo women voters.
As per reports, police had to get seven tractors to shift the saris, and it is estimated that there were more than 4,000 saris
