Hyderabad: Eight-year-old Sania’s future is at crossroads as her maternal relatives from Cango are demanding the Hyderabad Police to hand the girl over to them, while paternal grandparents want to take care of her. Meanwhile, the caretaking issue was on Friday referred to Ranga Reddy family court.

Sania is the daughter of Rupesh Kumar Mohanani, 36, and Congo national Cynthia Vechel, who was murdered brutally by her husband on July 6. Mohanani was arrested for allegedly throttling his wife Cynthia Vechel and then chopping her body into pieces and setting them ablaze. After the incident, Sania had been staying with grand mother Leelavathi and later shifted to rescue home.

Sania was on Friday produced before the court. Police was advised to refer the case to Ranga Reddy district family court. Cynthia’s brothers and relatives have been staging dharna in front of Police Station in Rejendra Nagar demanding for punishing Mohanani for the past two days. Police on Thursday brought Sania to Rajendra Nagar Police Station.
