Sandhyarani Surrenders in ACB Court

Hyderabad: The suspended Amberpet Tehsildar Sandhyarani who went absconding after her brother was caught while receiving bribe on her behalf from a realtor last week surrendered in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court on Monday.She is accused of demanding Rs7 lakh as bribe from a builder in connection with a land ownership in Malakpet. On receiving complaint by the builder Mohammad Athar, the ACB sleuths arranged coloured currency to be given to the official. However, she instructed the builder to hand over the money to her brother Venkata Nageshwar in Panjagutta and the ACB sleuths have arrested him red-handed while taking money.

Sandhyarani had gone underground after the arrest of her brother and sent message to her superior, the district collector, that was undergoing treatment for some serious illness. The Collector issued orders suspending her from duties.
