Sampoornesh Babu Arrested On Way To RK Beach For Andhra Yuvatha Mauna Deeksha  

Vizag: Popular parody actor Sampoornesh Babu was arrested by police when he was heading for RK Beach in Vizag to participate in the Mauna Deeksha candle protest demanding Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

Producer-director Tammareddy Bharadwaja was also stopped from going to the beach to take part in the agitation.

As the crowds swelled at the beach in response to a social media call for the candle light protest for the SCS, police deployment has been beefed up to restrain people reaching the place from various entry points.

Cable is blocked out to curtail all the coverage of the Andhra Yuvatha Mauna Deeksha candle light agitation and police took the entire beach area into their control. Scores of protesters including woman were taken custody when they tried to enter the beach.

Meanwhile, YSR Congress Party chief, Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to join the agitation anytime this evening.

The Congress party, Left parties and Pawan Kalyan also extended support to the agitation. Congress staged a dharna at the GVMC Gandhi statue.

Section 144 and 30 have been imposed in the city in view of the Andhra Yuvatha Mauna Deeksha agitation.
