Sakshi, Sindhu, Dipa, Gopichand Presented BMW Cars by Sachin Tendulkar
Hyderabad: India’s Rio Olympics medallists P.V. Sindhu and Sakshi Malik, gymnast Dipa Karmakar and badminton coach Pullela Gopichand were presented BMW luxury cars by Sachin Tendulkar at a function held at Gopichand Academy at Gachibowli, here on Sunday.
The presentation of cars is an initiative by Chamundeshwarnath, President Hyderabad District Badminton Association. Legendary cricketer and goodwill ambassador for India at Rio Olympics Sachin Tendulkar handed over the keys to the players and the coach. Gopi’s ward Sindhu won the silver medal in women’s singles badminton while wrestler Sakshi bagged bronze in women’s freestyle 58 kilogram. Dipa finished fourth in artistic gymnastics.
Speaking on the occasion, Sachin lavished praise on the players and said they are an inspiration to other players. He also complemented coach P Gopichand and said that the badminton coach is a ‘real hero’ to inspire and motivate so many players. Stating that the entire country is proud of these three players, he wished with more medals in the future.
