Sairaj bids adieu to TDP, joins YSRCP

TDP MLA from Itchapuram, Piriya Sairaj on Wednesday formally bid adieu to his party. He now belongs to the YSR Congress Party.

Sairaj took the party membership in the presence of YSRCP's honorary president, YS Vijayamma. The TDP MLA was accompanied by Srikakulaam district YSRCP convener,  Dharmana Padma Priya and MLA Dharmana Krishna Prasad.

It is learnt that Sairaj discussed party affairs and political developments with Vijayamma during their meeting.

Vijayamma is believed to have told Sai Raj to make YSRCP win in the local body elections. Sairaj is the only MLA in the district to have won the elections on behalf of TDP.

It may be recalled here that Sairaj recently met YSRCP president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Chanchalguda jail. After the meeting he announced that he would join the YSRCP soon. On the other hand, TDP suspended Sairaj soon after they learnt that he had switched his loyalty.
