Hyderabad: Sanitation workers of Gandhi Hospital went on strike on Thursday demanding payment of salaries which were due for two months. They boycotted the work and staged a protest dharna before the hospital.

Around 220 outsourced employees decided to go on strike protesting against non-payment of wages and also to demand regularization of their jobs. The AITUC leaders joined the striking sanitation workers in support of their agitation and demanded immediate payment of their wages.

As the workers are on strike, patients inside the hospital are forced to live in unclean and unhygienic conditions in various wards.
