Rs. 1 lakh fine for cancelling medical seat!

Medical counseling has begun in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.

The officials took a tough decision on cancelling admissions into medical courses.

Telangana Director of Medical Education Butta Srinivas said that a candidate has to pay a fine of Rs.1 lakh if he cancelled his seat after taking admission.

The parents of the students are objecting to the rule. They say that a student should be given an opportunity to change his admission into a better college after getting admission in any college.

However, Srinivas clarified that the amount has to be paid by such candidates as who intentionally cancelled their seats.

In the counseling, the officials rejected the admission for 19th ranker in EAMCET for not producing the original certificates at the time of counseling.

The medical counselling started at N.T.R.Health University in Vijayawada for the students of Andhra Pradesh. PDSU activists protested at the university demanding the cancellation of 15 % quota for NRIs. They tried to give a memorandum to the vice-chancellor on the issue. However, the police dispersed them.
