Royal Bengal Tiger Nikhil Critical In City Zoo

Hyderabad: Nikhil, the 18-year-old Royal Bengal Tiger at Nehru Zoological Park here is in a critical condition and suffering from broncho pneumonia for the last two months.

Nikhil, one of the most iconic Royal Bengal tigers at the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad, who was born and has lived in the city for the last 18 years, is reportedly critical and fighting for his life at the zoo. Nikhil was born in October 1999. Nikhil is the twin brother of tigress Sakhi, who was ruthlessly killed by three miscreants who had sneaked into the zoo in 2000.

The zoo currently houses 22 Royal Bengal tigers.
