Right proves wrong for ill fated passengers

An APSRTC's 'Palle Velugu' bus which was jam-packed with 60 persons, a half of them students, landed them into a valley 60 feet below. As a result, 16 people died and 30 others received serious injuries. The toll could rise as many of the injured are in a critical condition.

The relatives of the victims alleged that the accident happened due to the negligence of the driver of the bus.
Though the preliminary reports suggest that the driver of the bus lost control over the wheel while reportedly trying to avoid hitting an auto rickshaw, several questions were left unanswered.
According to eyewitness, the bus with registration number AP28Z 1053 was on right side at the time of the mishap. It should have stuck to the left side as per the traffic rules.
Why did the bus veered to the extreme right and perilously slid down the gorge? The bus was proceeding from Madakasira to Penugonda at the time of the accident. It is learnt that the driver has not used the routine way. Why did the drive change the route?. The officials from transportation said that the toll increased due to the overcrowd. Work was going on there to widen the road and there were no pillars on the roadside.
Driver of the bus succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
