'Request President's intervention, will fight in courts'

YSR Congress Party president Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday came down heavily on Congress Chief, Sonia Gandhi. Calling her a dictator, Jagan said that henceforth the term will be used to address her.

Jagan questioned the proceedings of Lok Sabha and added that it was not right for the House to accept the AP Reorganisation Bill 2013, after it was rejected by state assembly.

“The bill was introduced in Lok Sabha within ten minutes which is highly objectionable”,said Kadapa MP.“How can the bill will be taken up in the house without the presence of at least 15 MPs from Seemandhra region?”, he questioned.

He pointed out that the live broadcasting of the proceedings was stopped just when the approval of the bill came.

Jagan also faulted the way the bill was taken up in Rajya Sabha.

“Congress party has divided the state in a very undemocratic way”, said the MP.  He added that he had never seen something like this in his life.

“There was no mention of financial help for building the new capital in the bill”, said Jagan.

“The special package will not benefit anyone as it is only for a period of five years," said Jagan. He added that there was no clarity in the bill on several water issues related to Andhra Pradesh. “Who will be responsible for the disputes that will arise among the farmers in future?" he asked.

“By dividing the state, Congress party is playing with the lives of people in Seemandhra region. What the Congress party needed is seats and votes, not the betterment people in Seemandhra," he said.

He said that the bill was passed in both the houses just ten days before the release of election schedule.

"MP Sitaram Yechury walked out of the House protesting against the way the bill was handled in the House," he pointed out.

He faulted the Congress party for not revealing the exact figure of special package for the Polavaram project.

“Both Congress and BJP parties joined hands and made a mockery of democracy," said Jagan.

Jagan also criticised Telugu Desam party. “People are watching the double standards of TDP," he said.

He added that they had requested an audience with the President to inform him about their concerns on state division. “We will also fight in courts," he said.

“How will the projects like Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar get water”, asked the MP.

Jagan said that the bifurcation will lead to the suffering of one region forever.
