Hyderabad: Telangana state collected a record Rs 1,656.14 crore in Good and Services Tax (GST) in January, Commercial Taxes principal secretary Somesh Kumar said.
In a media briefing, on Thursday, he said the amount is quantum leap from the Rs 1,258.79 crore collected in August, 2017 by the state. Replying to a question, the principal secretary said that "increase in GST revenue due to the reduction of taxes" was for a single month only and they need to analyse the exact reasons for the record collections.
