Ready to resign for Telangana: Deputy CM

In what appears to be the last act of posturing as the mega Telangana march is about to begin, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha announced, "We are ready to resign for the cause of separate Telangana." He was reportedly irked by the government's behavior with respect to Telangana leaders and activists and their arrests in several places.

Basavaraju Saraiah, his cabinet colleague also met Panchayati Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy, along with him.

The Deputy CM observed that he was in agreement wiith Jana Reddy on the issue of resignation and added that he was ready to resign, on his part, whenever needed. Political analysts, however, find his comments amusing. How is it that the the Deputy CM suddenly sees the need to put in his papers for the Telangana cause? By the same token, why couldn't Jana Reddy or Saraiah resign, as Komatireddy Venkata Reddy chose to do, to cite one example?

The political grapevine is abuzz with speculation of an early announcement on the T-issue. It is apparent therefore, that Damodara Raja Narsimha, Jana Reddy  and Saraiah want to have their cake and eat it too, even as KCR says that the end of the struggle for a separate Telangana is in sight. Not to be outdone by the Telangana leaders, the APCC chief, Botsa Satyanarayana said that there is no problem in bifurcating AP, when there were several Hindi-speaking states.

Meanwhile, talking to reporters Jana Reddy expressed concern regarding the arrests of MPs and called for a peaceful march.
