Amaravati: In a surprising and sensational statement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu said he would snap ties with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of 2019 elections, if need be. He made this unexpected remark while speaking to media persons at Amaravati on Saturday.

"If the BJP doesn't want to forge alliance with the TDP, we're ready to break the friendship and go alone in the polls," he told the media persons.

The BJP top brass should take a serious view of the remarks and criticism that are being aimed at the TDP in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu asserted.

Since the TDP has a political alliance with the BJP, "I am trying to control my party cadre from making any such remarks that might affect the relation between the two parties," mentioned the TDP chief who was visibly upset at BJP.

It may be recalled that BJP MLA Vishnukumar Raju demanded that Chief Minister should take action against those Ministers who had switched over to the TDP after winning elections from the YSRCP ticket.

Punrandeshwari Reacts

Former Union Minister and BJP leader Punrandeshwari criticised AP CM's statements on the two parties alliance in the state. She said it was up to TDP to decide if they would like to continue the alliance or not. If TDP is not interested to continue with alliance, they have to speak to BJP State President Hari Babu.

Purandeshwari accused of Chandrababu's government of replicating the central government schemes in different names and claiming that they have been introduced by them.
