Ravi Teja’s Driver To Be Questioned By SIT On Saturday

Hyderabad: Actor Ravi Teja’s driver Srinivas will be questioned by the SIT team on Saturday regarding the sensational drug bust by the Hyderabad police.

Meanwhile, Ravi Teja was questioned from 10:30 am till 7:30 pm by the SIT team probing the drugs case.

Tollywood's Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, who has been summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Telangana Excise and Prohibitions Department, is undergoing interrogation today.

The 49-year-old star who started his film career with Mass Maharaja in 1990 is very popular among Telugus. He made it big in his 30s unlike today's trend of younger stars. He is one of the highest paid actors in Telugu and has acted in over 60 films.

Ravi Teja won the Nandi Special Jury Award in 1999 and 2002 for his performance in the films Nee Kosam (1999) and Khadgam (2002).

Teja was in the 50th position in Forbes India list of top 100 Celebrities in 2012. He moved to 68th position in 2013 with an income of of Rs13 crore and then slid to 74th place in 2015 with an income of Rs12.5 crore.

Ravi Teja was in the center of criticism when he did not visit the body of his younger brother Bharath who died in a fatal car accident recently. However, the actor later clarified that he has a phobia of dead bodies and could not see his brother only because he loved him a lot. Incidentally, Bharath was caught by police in a drugs case a few years back.

The SIT officials grilled actress Mumaith Khan in connection with the drug case on Thursday. Khan, who's participating in the reality show Bigg Boss Telugu, took a day off and appeared before SIT. Three women officials along with other officers questioned Mumaith Khan on several points related to the Hyderabad drug racket.

Known for her item numbers, Mumaith Khan was questioned for over seven hours along with two other persons Saad Nazir and Mubeen. She reportedly told the investigators that she smokes but never consumed drugs and about her foreign trip she said, "I am a free bird. I love traveling. I can go wherever I want."

Meanwhile, the SIT clarified that no Prohibition and Excise personnel has misbehaved or inappropriately touched Surdeep Kaur alias Charmi Kaur as reported in a section of media on Wednesday.

She had not filed any written or verbal complaint to any authority, according to an official press release.
