Rash-driving: VIP son does the vanishing trick

MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao's son Siddharth, booked in a case of rash driving that snuffed out a young life, is now found to be missing.

Siddharth's whereabouts are not known ever since the news of the murder came to light.

The rash driving by eight youths, allegedly including the MLA's son, in Timmapuram village of Yadlapadu mandal of Guntur district on Sunday.

Siddartha has been absconding since the death came to light.Meanwhile, criticism is mounting over the police for not being serious in the investigation.

At the time of incident, the vehicles were driven at break-neck speed and an engineering student identified as Nagendra (22) was killed and eight more were injured. The whereabouts of the injured persons are not known and it is alleged that the VIP could have played a key role in their vanishing act.

This is not the first time that the son of the MLA participating in car races.

Earlier, Siddartha was then taken into custody by the police for the same kind of offence. But, he was released quickly reportedly due to the pressure brought by the MLA.
