Ramanaidu receives Padmabushan, Janaki rejects

Noted film producer from Tollywood Daggubati Ramanayudu were among the six persons from the State who received Padma awards from President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday.

D Ramanaidu took the prestigious Padmabhushan award in recognition of his services in the film industry. However, S Janaki, who refused to accept Padmabhushan award did not turn up at the function. Padmasri awardees from AP are Gowrishankar, Science & Engineering, Dr Mudundi Ramakrishna Raju, Science and Engg, Dr C Venkata S Ram alias Chitta Venkata Sundara Ram, Medicine, Dr Radhika Herzberger, Literature & Educatio, Gajam Anjaiah, Art and R Nageswara Rao alias Surabhi Babji, Art.
