Rain Effect: RTC Bus Trapped On Bahuda River Causeway
YSR District: As many as 15 passengers were trapped when the APSRTC bus they were travelling in, was stuck in flood waters at Besthavaripalli village in T Sundupalli mandal, YSR district on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the bus was heading to the village on the Bahuda river causeway. Due to sudden surge of flood waters, the bus got trapped in the swirling waters of the river. The passengers and the driver experienced anxious moments before they were rescued by the locals. Locals were hailed for the timely help which saved precious lives.
Following incessant rains for the past one week, low-lying areas in Rayachoti, Pulivendula, Jammalamadugu and Kondapuram mandals are inundated. Streams, rivulets and waters bodies in the district are in spate.
