Rahul To Rope In Actress To Woo Social Media Users 

New Delhi: In order to change people's perception of the Congress party, its vice president Rahul Gandhi has decided to rope in Kannada actress Ramya to make her in-charge of party's social media platform and IT wing.

Thirty-four-year-old Ramya, who joined the Congress party in 2012, has served as MP in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka. She has over 4 lakh followers on twitter.

Earlier, she has been in news for praising people of Pakistan after coming from a tour as part of parliament delegation. Subsequently, she refused to apologise for her remarks. 

Deepinder Hooda, 39, who the present head of the Congress party IT Wing would give way to actress Ramya.

Hooda, who ran the social media platform for the party for about five years, did not see standout results and Rahul Gandhi too seems to have felt that the Congress party's presence unimaginative and ineffectual.
