Vijayawada: PV Sindhu and her coach Pullela Gopichand arrived in Vijayawada on Tuesday morning for the Andhra Pradesh edition of Olympic celebrations, similar to those held in Hyderabad on Monday.

On Tuesday morning, the coach-player duo were taken in an open top bus from Vijayawada airport to Indira Gandhi Stadium. Scores of students and the general public lines up the streets to cheer for PV Sindhu.

Member of Parliament Kesineni Nani (TDP), who is overseeing the celebrations in Vijayawada, accompanied Sindhu, her coach and their families from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. On Tuesday morning, the coach-player duo were taken in an open top bus from Vijayawada airport to Indira Gandhi Stadium. At the famous Benz Circle in Vijayawada scores of school students and fans lined up the thoroughfare and stoppd the cavalcade and presented PV Sindhu with flower bouquets. AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will felicitate the shuttler at IGS amidst thousands of students and public.

The ace shuttler and her family are expected to take a holy dip in the Krishna river and visit a temple as part of the ongoing Krishna Pushkaramas, after the celebrations at Indira Gandhi Stadium.
