Protests mar second day Assembly

The state Assembly on Tuesday witnessed pandemonium with protests on different issues by the Opposition parties and the Speaker adjourned the House to Wednesday as there was no let up in the protests.

The members of TRS and TDP surrounded podium and raised slogans preventing the Speaker to go for debate on budget accounts. TRS launched a protest demanding a resolution on Telangana, while the TDP demanded setting up of steel plant at Bayyaram. Earlier, the Speaker adjourned the house for two times.

Soon after the House began its business, the members of the Opposition launched agitation after the Speaker Nadendla Manohar rejected the adjournment motions proposed by the parties. TDP demanded setting up of steel plant at Bayyaram, YSRCP on panchayat reservations, BJP on Telangana Bill in Parliament, CPM on Anganwadi issues, CPI on separate Telangana, MIM on power charges hike and surcharge, TRS and others on adjournment motion on a resolution in the Assembly on Telangana.

As the members did not give up their protest, the Speaker adjourned the House for half an hour. The House was adjourned again for another half-an-hour. Later, TDP organised protest at Gunpark demanding steel plant at Bayyaram.

'Kiran, Chandrababu on match-fixing'

The MLAs of TRS, BJP and CPI met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and submitted a memorandum requesting him for permission to hold 'Chalo assembly' on June 14. TRS deputy floor leader Harish Rao said "we will take responsibility if the government accorded permission for the programme or otherwise, it should be held responsible for any untoward incidents." He appealed to the Telangana ministers to participate in the programme. He alleged that TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had a match fixing.
