Praja Sankalpa Yatra Day 9, People Vexed With Chandrababu Naidu: YS Jagan

The YSRCP chief said that throughout his Praja Sankalpa yatra people came to him saying that they were vexed with Chandrababu Naidu’s rule and that they were finding day to day life unbearable.

Allagadda: AP Leader of the Opposition and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday evening reached Allagadda town in Kurnool district on the ninth day of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra. He addressed a massive gathering at the central junction where four main roads intersect. The YSRCP chief said that throughout his Praja Sankalpa yatra people came to him saying that they were vexed with Chandrababu Naidu's rule and that they were finding day to day life unbearable.

The public meeting was teeming with people who were jostling each other for space and during the course of his speech, YS Jagan pointed out that the suffering of the people went up dramatically in the last three-and-half years of the Telugu Desam Party's government. This became all the more evident during his interaction with them.

Wherever he went, the elderly, widows and others told him that they were not getting their pensions from the government.

The people lamented that the houses which were allocated to them earlier by the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, were not given to them by the TDP government. They told YS Jagan that crop losses were huge and farmers suffered tremendously under the Chandrababu's rule. Cotton, turmeric and groundnut farmers were deeply worried about the losses that they incurred.

The farming community is a troubled lot as banks refuse to give them any loans, YS Jagan pointed out. Students also found themselves at the receiving end and were left high and dry by the government, he said.

"Today there is a need to question as to what benefits have accrued to us from the four-year rule of the TDP. We need to ask the Telugu Desam leadership as to what they have done for the people of the state. Did we get what the people of any state expect from the ruling party or the government? How should a leader conduct himself? These are the questions that we should ask today," he said.

A question we need to ask is whether the people who have elected Chandrababu Naidu should vote for him and his party again. What about the power bills in Chandrababu Naidu's time as compared to those earlier. It is obvious that the power bill people pay today is much higher than what it was earlier. Before the TDP rule, when people went to ration shop, along with rice they used to get kerosene, sugar, tamarind, wheat flour, whereas the fare price shop gives rice alone.

What about the Chandrababu's promise before elections— housing for the poor? Have we seen a single house was being constructed for the poor in the last four years? He had promised to waive loans, the Leader of Opposition said. People cheered him vocally agreeing with every single point articulated by YS Jagan, as they had so far on the walkathon.
