Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSR Congress party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a massive gathering in K.Kotapadu Mandal in Visakhapatnam district here today. He thanked the thousands of local people who joined him in his Praja Sankalpa Yatra. The YSRCP chief promised women's self-help groups loans on zero interest under Rajanna Rajyam.

YS Jagan said that over 24,000 people in the region were dependent on the Chodavaram co-operative sugar factory. After Chandrababu Naidu came to power in 2014, all factories and dairies in the regional co-operative society got closed down due to losses. The leader observed that Chandrababu tried to assign the closed factories to his close aide MVVS Murthy, while the lives of thousands of people were in jeopardy.

The YSRCP Chief added that when Chandrababu was in power in 2003, the Chodavaram sugar factory went into a loss of Rs 45 crore, but, fortunately in 2004, after late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) came to power, he revived the factories in the co-operative society. After Dr YSR provided financial support to the factories, they realized profits, and the workers in the factories were given bonuses and incentives, he said.

In Chandrababu Naidu's rule, a contract in the Chodavaram sugar factory was given to a relative of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Sujana Chowdary for a low price of Rs 1,100 per ton of wet sugar, while the market price was Rs 3,000, he added. The price of Molasses was reduced to Rs 2,700 from Rs 6,000 in Chandrababu's rule, he added.

"Local people asked if Chandrababu was eligible to continue as the Chief Minister. The waters from Raiwada reservoir had been driven to Vizag since a long time now. But, I promise, after completing the Polavaram project, the YSRCP will ensure that all the waters from the reservoir be driven to Kotapadu. Do you think Chandrababu can complete the project works before his term ends?" he questioned the public.

Adding that rampant corruption was a hallmark of Chandrababu's rule, YS Jagan said that a relative of Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu was offered a sub-contract in Polavaram project works for double the prices. In 2014, Chandrababu offered to build the Madugula Degree college but not even a building has been built till now, he added.

The leader of Opposition observed that under Neeru-Chettu program, rivers in Musidipalli, Nagarayapalli, A.Kothapalli, Reddyvaripalem and K.Kotapadu were destroyed by the TDP leaders's sand mafia. During Rajanna Rajyam, 42,000 houses built in this constituency, he added.

"The Vadderu anacut, which serves the irrigation purposes of 1,200 to 1,500 acres of land, was damaged in Hudhud cyclone, yet, the anacut has not been restored. Not even a single bed is available and no basic facilities have been provided in the local Public Helath Center, which was inaugurated around three years ago. While around 200 people died of fever in recent times in Northern Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu's government is yet to spring into action," he asserted.

YS Jagan said that the women's self-help groups were cheated by the TDP government. He said that in the name of loan waivers, Chandrababu had cheated the state to the tune of Rs 87,000 crores. With elections in 6 months, Chandrababu, who has failed in fulfilling his election promise on the liquor ban, is resorting to make false promises in the name of Dharma Porata Deeksha, he added.

The Opposition Leader said that Chandrababu was lying with regard to the investments and the employment opportunities that have been generated through the 3-day Partnership Summit held in Visakhapatnam. He said it was shameful of Chandrababu not to have achieved the Special Category Status (SCS) to AP. In the context of State's bifurcation, Chandrababu in 2014 said that around 1.42 lakh jobs were available in the government, but he had completely failed to fill the vacancies.

YS Jagan promised that the 'YSR Cheyootha' pension scheme would be implemented through SC, ST, BC commissions, after YSRCP comes to power. "In every village, a village secretariat would be formed to ease the process of fees reimbursement, Arogyasri, pensions, house building permission and other services. In Chandrababu's rule, all these services would not be done without offering bribes. The village secretariat would be run by 10 village youth, who would be provided jobs within the village," he added.
