Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today launched a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu while addressing a massive public gathering as part of his historic mass outreach programme, Praja Sankalpa Yatra, at prathipadu constituency in East Godavari district.

The people's leader said: I can only thank each and every person who walked alongside me during the course of my padayatra today. Scores of people matched steps with me pouring out their woes, while according a warm reception while showering immeasurable love and affection. I fold both my hands and bow down my head in humility to all those assembled here.

YS Jagan said that in 2014, Chandrababu vowed to shut down belt shops in the state. But ironically, in his four years of rule, he has ensured that every village has a liquor shop. The mushrooming of belt shops and alcohol addiction is ruining the lives of youth, he remarked.

Even though the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won 14 out of 19 MLAs in this district in the 2014 elections, Chandrababu tried to destroy people's mandate by opting to purchase three MLAs from the YSRCP, YS Jagan said.

The YSRCP Chief pointed out that in Chandrababu's rule, schools and colleges were being closed down in the name of rationalization, whilst corporate schools like Sri Chaitanya and Narayana continue to flourish. Neither salaries nor raw material bills are being paid to mid-day meal workers, while no text books are supplied to government schools, he observed.

End Of Corporate Schools Under YSRCP: YS Jagan further said that the YSRCP would implement full fee reimbursement besides providing financial assistance to students from Class I to Intermediate classes. The assurance, a part of the Navarathnalu, includes full fee reimbursement and financial assistance to help students from the economically poor background to ensure access quality education.

"In 2014, Chandrababu promised to set up a Petroleum University, Petro corridor, ship building unit, Electronics park, Vizag-Chennai Industrial corridor and many others. But not even foundation has been laid in the last four years," the Leader of Opposition said.

The YSRCP Chief said that none of the irrigation projects have seen progress in the last four years. The Polavaram project work is not even 20% complete, and the Uthama Villain Of AP claims to have completed 55% of Polavaram, he added.

Chandrababu's close relative Annavaram Satyanarayana, who looks after maintenance of temples, has been benefitted from the government. The maintenance contract, which was worth only Rs 7 lakh, has been increased to Rs 32 lakh by Chandrababu. YS Jagan remarked that even Gods were not being spared in Chandrababu's rule.

YS Jagan asserted that after the sand mafia emptied all the sand and mud in the rivers of the State, Chandrababu gave a free hand to TDP leaders to exploit the rivers in the name of the Neeru-Chettu program, which is a symbol of Chandrababu's corruption.

YS Jagan said he was proud to note that late Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) had built 10 lakh houses for the poor. Chandrababu did not keep his promise of building a junior college in the district, he added.

It is unfortunate that the 30-bed community hospital in the region does not even have a specialist doctor, he said.

In the four years of Chandrababu's rule, not even a single crop was given MSP, he said. The simple reason being Chandrababu is the leader of brokers.

Chandrababu's Heritage company purchases crops at lower price from farmers and sells its products for 3-4 times the price, YS Jagan said. Back in 2014, Chandrababu promised to waive farm loans, but instead he has burdened the state government with a loan of Rs 87,600 crores, he said. Bank loan notices continue to harass farmers and the women’s co-operative societies, he added.
