Rajamouli's Magnum Opus Baahubali-The Beginning was released in 2015. The movie has bagged many awards in various categories but what is disheartening is that the movie's lead actor Prabhas who became a household name across India failed to get any recognition.

The film Baahubali won awards in several categories such as best film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, Best Villain, Best Cinematographer, Best Playback Singer (male), Best Music, Best Choreographer, Best Fight Master, Best Dubbing, and Best Special Effects Awards. Surprisingly, Prabhas failed to get any award.

The state government had not announced the awards since 2014 due to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Committee members Balakrishna, Murali Mohan, Giri Babu, Jeevitha and others announced the awards at the AP capital Amaravati, which the Andhra Pradesh government plans to turn into the new hub of Telugu film industry.

Apart from Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Jr.NTR and Balakrishna have bagged a Nandi Award for their movies Legend, Srimanthudu and Nannaku Prematho and Janatha Garage respectively in the best actor awards categories .

Prabhas Baahubali-The Beginning did well at the box office and he got national recognition with that movie. But the actor missing a prestigious award such as Nandi has disappinted the Telugu audience.

Meanwhile, Prabhas is currently busy with the shoot of Saaho which is scheduled to hit theatres next year.
