AP CM Leaving To Delhi For PM Modi’s NITI Aayog Meeting

Amaravati: Newly-elect Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be leaving for New Delhi on Friday to attend his first meeting of NITI Aayog that will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting is scheduled to held on June 15. It is expected that YS Jagan will take up the issue of Special Category Status (SCS) to the state and pitch for financial assistance for the state from the Centre.

The YSR Congress party leader will also meet party Member of Parliaments in the national capital during which the party's strategy that will be adopted in the lower house will be decided.

In a spectacular performance, Y S Jagan, who led his YSRCP to a thumping victory in the assembly elections winning 151 seats in the 175-member strong state assembly. The party also won 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the recently concluded polls.

The YSRCP decimated the TDP headed by N Chandrababu Naidu, who became the first chief minister of the state after it was bifurcated to carve out Telangana five years ago.
