Amaravati: Two-time MLA of Dhone assembly seat, Buggana Rajendranath Reddy was sworn in as the cabinet minster in Jagan Mohan government on Saturday. He is the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). He has been allocated the Finance and Planning; Legislative Affairs portfolio.

He won the seat in the 2019 Assembly elections with 1,00,845 votes against TDP's K E Pratap who is the brother of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy who secured 65,329 votes.

In Buggana Reddy's maiden election in 2014 also, he defeated K E with a huge majority of 11,152 votes.

Buggana Rajendranath Reddy is a Hyderabad Public School alumni and a computer science engineering graduate from Bellary.

A native of Bethamcherla, his father was a Sarpanch there. After his engineering Buggana returned and was elected as Sarpanch for two terms.

The YSR Congress inducted 25 new ministers on Saturday into the Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's Council of Ministers in Andhra Pradesh in what they termed as "socially-inclusive Cabinet." The new government will have five deputy CMs in an unprecedented move.

State Governor E S L Narasimhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at a glittering public function adjacent to the Secretariat at Velagapudi in capital Amaravati.
