Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP from Peddapalli, Balka Suman likened Telangana Congress leaders to 'a gang of Stuartpuram robbers'. He added that they were needlessly politicising the income tax and enforcement directorate action against Revanth Reddy and his close relatives and associates. Revanth Reddy was being questioned in connection with a number of illegal activities, he added.

Balka Suman denied any connection between the ongoing income tax raids on Revanth and the TRS party in Telangana. He reminded Congress leaders who were dragging the TRS into the Revanth Reddy issue that Income Tax department and Enforcement Directorate were under the control of the Centre. Balka Suman said that the law was catching up with Revanth Reddy who was involved in a number of instances of land grabbing, hawala transactions and money laundering. He said that Revanth Reddy was no less than a Dawood Ibrahim, a Vijay Mallya or a Chota Shakeel.

The TRS MP questioned how Uttam Kumar Reddy who always spoke of his fighter pilot experience against Pakistan and China, could justify the illegal activities of a 'traitor' like Revanth Reddy. Suman compared Revanth to a Ganja weed in a garden of Tulasi plants and said that such people had no place in a civilised society.

Balka Suman asked Congress leaders how they could back the unlawful activities of Revanth Reddy. He pointed out that in Revanth's case 18 companies had been registerd in one address. These firms did transactions through Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong among other places and transactions of Rs. 20 crore had taken place in February 2014. How could the Congress leaders back a man with such a track record, he said. Balka Suman said that it was for the Congress leaders to introspect on why Revanth Reddy came under the scanner of Central agencies, when there were many Congress leaders including Jana Reddy and Jaipal Reddy, among several others.

Machinery was acquired by these firms at Rs. 14 crore, sold for Rs. 25 crore and then again for Rs. 80 crore, he observed and added that normally, there was depreciation in the case of machinery. It was quite the opposite in this case, he pointed out. How did Revanth Reddy amass his wealth and assets, he wondered.

Balka Suman accused Revanth Reddy of using the Hawala route for money laundering and describing him as a traitor, said that the Election Commission should disqualify him from contesting the polls.

The Peddapalli MP said that all surveys showed that the TRS would sweep the polls and that they would come to power again with the blessings of the people.
