Vijayawada: Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Andhra Pradesh unit visited Governor Narasimhan and discussed the rampant corruption in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government earlier today. Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao, MLC Somu Veerraju and MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju filed a complaint with the Governor on the corrupt practices of the TDP government, including the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) recent reports on the massive PD Accounts scam that involved misuse of Rs 53,000 crores of Central funds. Speaking to media after the meeting, GVL Narasimha Rao said that the Governor was already reviewing a report on the PD Accounts scam and that he had requested for additional information on the issue, if any.

Narasimha Rao said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Finance Minister should face a CBI enquiry on the issue. Adding that Chandrababu was trying to misuse funds on a large scale by issuing Amaravati Bonds, the BJP MP said that the TDP government was adding to the already mounting burden through loans on the public exchequer.

MLC Somu Veerraju said that the TDP government was paving its way to a new scandal by cancelling the Bhogapuram Airport tenders. "Why did Chandrababu prevent the Airport Authority of india from participating in the tender? Why does he want to allot the contract to the private sector organizations?" he questioned. He added that the BJP would take the matter to Courts.

On the occasion, MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju challenged the AP CM to voluntarily come forward for a CBI investigation if he would like to prove his innocence.
