M Karunanidhi Death News Fake: The DMK Patriarch M Karunanidhi is alive and kicking. The former Tamil Nadu chief minister who's being treated by Kauvery Hospital doctors at his Chennai home over the last few days following fever caused by Urinary Tract Infection is critical but alive, said a health bulletin released by the hospital on Thursday.

M Karunandihi also completed 46 years as DMK chief yesterday. A battery of doctors are closely monitoring M Karunanidhi's health condition round the clock at the senior politician's home.

A medical bulletin released by the Kauvery hospital said: "“There has been a decline in the health of DMK president M Karunanidhi’s due to age related ailments. He is being treated for fever due to urinary tract infection. He is being given hospital level treatment at home.”

Senior political leaders have been flocking his home to wish him a speedy recovery. actor-turned-politician Kamal haasan was the latest to pay a visit to MK's house. Earlier, Tamil Nadu Deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam too met the DMK working president MK Stalin to check on Karunanidhi's health.

It's worth mentioning here that the DMK Supremo's health deteriorated in October 2016 following allergy caused by a drug. He is being treated by a team of medical experts at his Gopalapuram residence since then. He has also frequently been in and out of hospital several times over he last two years. He had undergone tracheostomy, a procedure to optimise breathing.
