Mayor Nannapuneni Narender-MLA Konda Surekha

Warangal: Internal differences within the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party in the district have once again surfaced. The differences between two groups of local MLA Konda Surekha and Mayor Nannapuneni Narender came to limelight once again. Since quite some time now, internal clashes in Warangal East, Bhupalapalli, Mahbubabad, Dornakal and Station Ghanpur constituencies turned out to be matter of concern for the TRS in the district. Warangal district had contributed to a large extent during the Telangana agitation.

Blatant criticism between the two groups led to differences during the recent Chamber of Commerce and Ramzan dinner meetings. After the demolition Iqbal Minar, the heat within the TRS intensified. MLA Surekha staged a protest earlier this week and this triggered anger in Mayor who openly criticized the MLA in a press conference.

In a recent press meet organized along with several leaders from the Muslim community, the TRS MLA ridiculed the political stature of the Mayor. To this a verbal duel between the two continued when the Mayor Narender said that it was his sacrifice in 2014 that fetched Konda Sureka the MLA ticket.

In Mahbubabad constituency, TRS MLA Shankar Naik and former MLA Malothu Kavitha have been involved in internal disputes for the last three years. Similar situation is seen in Bhupalapalli constituency between three leaders, Speaker Madhusudhanachary, Gandra Satyanarayana Rao and Susmitha Patel.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari is learnt to be facing a tough challenge in the form of the groups of former Deputy CM Thatikonda Rajaiah and Rajarapu Pratap. It looks like TRS is facing internal turbulence and needs the attention of top leadership immediately.
