Mahbubnagar: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka lauded the efforts of MLA Sampath Kumar here on Saturday. Speaking at a felicitation programme organized on the occasion of Alampur MLA Sampath Kumar's appointment as AICC Secretary, Bhatti Vikramarka said that hard workers have always been duly recognised in the party. MLA Sampath was successful in taking public issues for government's consideration in various Assembly sessions, the senior leader observed.

"While the unemployment rate keeps increasing in the state, the government is unable to address the problems faced by the farmer community. The state government made a huge deficit of Rs 1.10 lakh crores in the name of irrigation projects," Bhatti Vikramarka alleged.

Senior Congress leader, AICC Secretary V. Hanumanth Rao accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) of deceiving the Dalit community. Dalits in the state will not excuse KCR, who had ignored his promise of having a Dalit as the CM of Telangana. After achieving statehood for Telangana, KCR had conveniently forgotten his words, he remarked.

The former Rajya Sabha member said Congress President Rahul Gandhi had appointed a Dalit MLA as AICC Secretary, while the CM was ignoring the Dalits. "We should not forget the services of Marri Chenna Reddy and Mallikarjun during the first stage of the Telangana agitation in 1969," he added.

Former Minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy said he joined the Congress party to expose the corrupt practices of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders. Telangana became a reality only because of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, he added.Former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy said that a non-NDA government will form the government in 2019 general elections. The senior Congress leader said he was happy with MLA Sampath's inclusion in the AICC.

Speaking on the occasion, newly appointed AICC Secretary Sampath Kumar acknowledged MLA Chinna Reddy as his political guru. Wanaparthy MLA Chinna Reddy said he was proud of Sampath, who rose to the level of AICC Secretary from being a party worker.
