Ahead Of Protest Rally, BJP MLA Placed Under House Arrest

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police, on Saturday, placed Bharatiya Janata Party MLA NVSS Prabhakar under house arrest after he announced that he would take out a rally against Sri Peetam head Swami Paripoornananda's externment from the city. Following the legislator's announcement on his participation in the rally, from Hubsiguda Crossroads to Nacharam Crossroads, organised by members of Hindu Vahini, the police officials placed him under house arrest for almost 12 hours.

On Wednesday, spiritual leader Swami Paripoornananda was externed from the city for six months under Telangana Prevention of Anti-Social and Hazardous Activities Act, over his alleged provocative statements made at various meetings across the state.

Prior to the spiritual leader's externment, Telugu actor and movie critic Kathi Mahesh was also externed on July 9 from Hyderabad over his alleged statements against Hindu deities.
